BD&J’s 2024 Holiday Toy Drive Kicks Off from November 11th to December 10th!
The holidays should be a time for reflection, community, and bringing joy and love to others. However, many struggle to make ends meet for everyday necessities like housing, childcare, and food. Making their children’s holidays magical becomes even more difficult when coupled with long hours at work or a lack of disposable income. That’s why BD&J is partnering with the Los Angeles Unified School District to bring magic to the holidays for the district’s lower-income elementary aged students. From November 11th to December 10th, 2024, we’ll be collecting toys to give as gifts for local families.
Who is Receiving the Toys for the 2024 Holiday Toy Drive?
BD&J has proudly partnered with LAUSD’s Beyond the Bell before and afterschool program and the Student and Family Wellness Program to identify the students whose families struggle with homelessness, food insecurity, or other economic troubles, and provide gifts for their elementary aged or younger children this holiday season. Just one less thing for already-stressed parents to worry about with the holidays drawing nearer.
How Can I Donate to the 2024 Holiday Toy Drive?
We welcome and appreciate any and everyone who donates a toy to our 2024 holiday toy drive. Drive collection takes place in our Los Angeles headquarters located at 11175 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, California. If you’d like to donate, please bring a new, unopened toy for elementary aged or younger children to our office and place the toy in the decorated drive collection boxes in the lobby with reception. Our team will ensure your generous donation is delivered safely to LAUSD’s programs.
What Happens After the Drive?
Following the drive, all donations will be taken to Beyond the Bell and LAUSD’s Student and Family Resource Program headquarters for private distribution to families and students ahead of the holidays.
All Los Angeles families are also welcome to attend BD&J’s Holiday Fun Fest – a day of cheer and joy marking the end of the 2024 holiday toy drive. Whether or not you donated to our toy drive or are a client, you’re welcome to join us at the Holiday Fun Fest and take part in the family-friendly activities we have planned, including bounce houses, raffles for prizes like a pair of LA Kings tickets, music, food trucks, games, and pictures with Santa! There is no entrance fee.
